Summary

The Relationship Manager (RM) is a client-facing role responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and expanding long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), institutional clients, and intermediaries. The RM acts as a trusted advisor, delivering bespoke investment solutions aligned with clients’ financial goals while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal risk controls. This role sits at the nexus of business development, client service, and investment advisory, requiring both strategic insight and executional excellence.

Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Business Development

  • Proactively identify and acquire new clients through referrals, networking, and strategic prospecting
  • Develop and execute customized pitch presentations and proposals for prospective clients
  • Achieve individual and team business targets, including AUM growth and revenue goals

 

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring timely and proactive engagement
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and financial check-ins with clients to assess performance and evolving needs
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of clients’ financial situations, risk profiles, investment preferences, and life-stage needs

 

Investment Advisory & Product Knowledge

  • Understand and communicate the full suite of investment products offered by the firm (mutual funds, discretionary mandates, alternative investments, etc.)
  • Work closely with the portfolio management and research teams to deliver tailored investment proposals and strategies
  • Stay informed about macroeconomic trends, capital markets developments, and regulatory changes affecting client portfolios

 

Client Retention & Experience

  • Provide world-class service and timely resolution of client issues or requests
  • Coordinate with operations, legal, compliance, and fund administration to ensure smooth onboarding, documentation, and reporting
  • Enhance the client experience through personalization, transparency, and consistent value delivery

 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all client interactions comply with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and KYC/AML standards
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in CRM systems
  • Escalate any red flags or risk indicators in accordance with firm policy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
  • MBA, MSc (Finance) or related postgraduate qualification is a plus
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA Level I/II, CIS, CWM, CFP) are highly desirable
  • 5–7 years of experience in relationship management, sales, private banking, or investment advisory, preferably within an asset or wealth management environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust-based relationships and manage complex client dynamics
  • Proven track record of achieving AUM growth and client satisfaction metrics
