RESEARCH ANALYST

Summary

As an Analyst in the Research unit, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company in conducting investment research, and providing strategic insights to guide investment decisions. You will be responsible for performing financial analysis and market research, while also contributing to content creation by translating complex financial data into insight-driven research and investor communications. The Analyst shall be expected to interpret, manage, analyze and present research data in order to translate results into better solutions and promote business efficiency. The ideal candidate should have strong financial acumen, attention to detail, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, excellent interpersonal skills, and a creative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and organizing qualitative and quantitative data in both electronic and hard copy format, including, but not limited to data on the following: global economy. Data collected for global economy includes business directory lists, industry data, GDP, demographics, labor force, income, real estate and lifestyle indicators.
  • Frequent writing of compelling articles using a variety of sources including economic, financial or business-related news articles.
  • Write and publish quarterly and year-end market reports and macro-economic analysis.
  • Undertake market analysis/modeling, and provide operational support relating to the firm’s strategy and analyze key industry trends to guide the management team in decision making.
  • Providing adequate support to cross-functional teams and business leads on the successful execution of implementation plan, work plan, or other strategic initiatives.
  • Identifying new opportunities through detailed and extensive market and economic research on industries related to the firm’s business functions.
  • Must be able to disseminate market information and investment ideas to the sales team to enable generate trades on a daily basis.
  • Assist in the compilation and publication of Daily Market Update, Business Headlines, weekly stock recommendation, and publication of Companies results amongst others.
  • To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
  • Monitor capital markets, fixed income, equities, and alternative investments.
  • Prepare and publish market intelligence reports, investment recommendations, and economic reviews
  • Assist in content development for investment insights, market reports, and corporate publications.
  • Translate complex financial data into digestible insights for different audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing and Brands Communication team to produce social media content, blog posts, and newsletters related to financial markets and company activities.
  • A team player, strong work discipline, organized, and willing to learn and impact knowledge on others.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, IT, Management, Administration, Economics, or Information Science and a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training.
  • Certificates and/or Licenses.
  • Additional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are preferred (but not mandatory).

Other Skills

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience collecting, interpreting, and organizing data
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and present findings to companies with clear, concise, and actionable recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of key industries and markets.
  • Advanced speaking and report-writing skills for effective communication.
  • Attention to details and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to keep sensitive business financial information confidential.
  • Experience in sourcing, researching and storing data, both hard copy and electronically and being able to source appropriate data as requested.
  • Familiar and comfortable with exploring and utilizing new and emerging information technology (i.e. new business databases).
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
